چکیده

We develop a fully covariant, well-posed 5D effective action for the 6D cascading gravity brane-world model, and use this to study cosmological solutions. We obtain this effective action through the 6D decoupling limit, in which an additional scalar degree mode, π , called the brane-bending mode, determines the bulk-brane gravitational interaction. The 5D action obtained this way inherits from the sixth dimension an extra π selfinteraction kinetic term. We compute appropriate boundary terms, to supplement the 5D action, and hence derive fully covariant junction conditions and the 5D Einstein field equations. Using these, we derive the cosmological evolution induced on a 3-brane moving in a static bulk. We study the strongand weak-coupling regimes analytically in this static ansatz, and perform a complete numerical analysis of our solution. Although the cascading model can generate an accelerating solution in which the π field comes to dominate at late times, the presence of a critical singularity prevents the π field from dominating entirely. Our results open up the interesting possibility that a more general treatment of degravitation in a time-dependent bulk, or taking into account finite brane-thickness effects, may lead to an accelerating universe without a cosmological constant. We propose a model for early universe cosmology without the need for fundamental scalar fields. Cosmic acceleration and phenomenologically viable reheating of the universe results from a series of energy transitions, where during each transition vacuum energy is converted to thermal radiation. We show that this ‘cascading universe’ can lead to successful generation of adiabatic density fluctuat...

Evaluating the potential of cascading failure occurrence due to line outage in power systems by information theory method and radial base functions

In power systems, a connected topology is created to increase reliability and economic performance. Increasing dimensions of power systems on the one hand and the need to continuously monitor power systems for secure operation on the other challenge the evaluation of power system security. In such conditions, due to economic conditions and considering the fast growth of consumers in a power sys...

Considering the cosmology with mythological form of consciousness era as the primary base of metaphysical form and the basis of development toward an integrated cosmology, political ideas has been placed in an organic link with a metaphysical system in the ancient Persians as well as Chinese political thought. Based on considerable similarities among cosmological systems in civilizations e.g....

Cosmic Walls and Filaments Formation in Modied Chaplygin Gas Cosmology

We want to study the perturbation growth of an initial seed of an ellipsoidal shape in Top-Hat collapse model of the structure formation in the Modied Chaplygin gas cosmology. Considering reasonable values of the constants and the parameters of the model under study, we can show that a very small deviation from spherical symmetry (ellipsoidal geometry) in the initial seed leads to a nal highly ...

Mythological analysis of kings’ metahuman adjectives in the historiography of the Safavid era

Iranian historiography after Islam indicates the attribution of some metahuman characteristics to kings. This attribution could be studied concerning the culture of the target society in addition to historiographical eloquence. Meanwhile, the two factors of repetition and the existence of similar features in Iran’s ancient cosmology indicate a kind of intellectual coherence. The main issue of t...
